br
You would think that elderly people had enough to deal with just getting older and watching the bloom of youth fade away slowly but surely. Elderly people are also routinely troubled by problems such as arthritis, blood pressure etc, risk of strokes and heart attacks etc, all of which tells them they have reached the twilight of their lives.

Acne, Caught off guard?
You would think that would be more than enough. Surely they do not need anything else, least of all, acne!! This is one condition that does seem somewhat misplaced, associated as it is, rightly or wrongly, with younger people.

But it is true all right. There is no getting away from the fact that older people, with all their problems, have not been spared the menace of acne. Unfortunately for them, people at this stage are particularly prone to acne rosacea, which is a chronic skin condition that mainly affects the skin of the face.

Be well informed about your acne. Acne rosacea shows up as a redness of the skin, which may spread all over the face. It does not normally affect other parts of the body. Although this condition affects both men and women aged between 30 and 50 years, it is found more often in women rather than men. Acne rosacea tends to develop around the age of menopause.

While the complexion initially takes on a reddish appearance, this progresses to become a more severe discoloration of the skin. As the condition progresses, acne rosacea tends to affect the eyes, which could develop conjunctivitis, accompanied by sensations of itching and burning of the eyes.

Be vigilant and control your acne. Although the specific causes of acne rosacea are not yet known, this is a condition that can last for several years. Acne rosacea may have something to do with eating certain kinds of food, although acne, generally speaking, is not connected with the consumption of food in any way. This happens because certain chemicals contained in the food tend to react with others in the human system.

If you suffer from acne rosacea and can identify any food as particularly aggravating the problem, naturally you would do well to avoid it. You should also avoid spending too much time in the sun, which is only one of many restrictions you will have to endure. Others include caffeine, alcohol, rich food and hot drinks.

Keep fit as it will help your acne. You will have to ensure that you get plenty of exercise in an area that is well ventilated. Unfortunately, you will have to avoid using cosmetics on your face, or at least stay away from those that have an oily base. In addition, any products you use on your face will have to be free of alcohol, which will irritate your skin.

Do not despair because your acne will get better. Occasionally, older people also suffer from acne vulgaris, which can be very troublesome. This is a condition that can be particularly distressing because of the way it looks. The best way to treat it is to leave it alone as far as possible. Above all, you should avoid scrubbing the affected area. Although there is no direct link between acne and food, certain foods could aggravate the condition. These include nuts, biscuits and confectionery, sodas, chips etc.

Change eating habits to fight acne. In your own best interest, you will have to substitute these goodies with water, herbal tea and vegetable juices. You should also substitute whole milk with soymilk, which can be sweetened with stevia. Vitamin E supplements may also aggravate acne vulgaris.

Healthy food choices for your acne. You can combat your acne by increasing your consumption of fish such as salmon, sardines, tuna and halibut which contain the vital Omega 3 oils that are guaranteed to make a difference. Eat as many fresh vegetables as you can. Eating a combination of fish and vegetables will probably be the best thing that you can do for your acne. In case you eat fish less than twice a week, you should consider taking fish oil capsules.

Other tips to beat your acne. Take every opportunity to relax by going for long walks whenever you can. Lastly do remember to drink plenty of water and do yoga if possible. Try to observe all these tips and you should see your acne improve. The healthy foods that have been suggested will serve the purpose of keeping you in good health, while you are battling with your acne. Take care and good luck!/pbr
br
When searching for a treatment to help reduce acne and clear your skin, it is very important that you choose a product containing the ingredients capable of smoothing out the skin, leaving you with no scars and able to control free radicals. Acne sufferers should look for treatments containing natural ingredients. Our bodies are natural so why not use something natural to help heal it.

It is best to know the ingredients of a product before using it. You want to know what youre getting right? If the same ingredients is in the treatment youve used in the pass, (which gave you little to know results) is in the product you are thinking about using now, then you may be wasting your time on the product because they both will end up having the same effect.

For example if you go and use Skin Clear Gel (not sure if its an actual product) and received no results, and then go and use Free From Acne which has the same ingredients as Skin Clear Gel. Then? well you get the point.

A lot of people usually choose a product that is recommended by someone else, which is okay, but you may not get the same results as the one who referred you. Some people may have very severe acne while others may have mild. And the ingredients used in that treatment may not be capable of clearing up your skin.

You need something that will help your skin to heal naturally. A treatment that has been proven to work time and time again without causing damage to the skin is the kind of treatment you are looking for. It is best to find one that will work from the inside out, eliminating waste and other impurities. Poor elimination of waste and toxic can lead to build up causing it to exit through the skin.

Taking drugs to try and relieve acne usually leaves people with side effects. Some side effects may be skin irritation, dryness of skin, or it may even lead to more breakouts. Like I said earlier, what may have worked for one person may not necessarily work for another. Some people skin is very sensitive and could cause them to breakout just by applying the slightest bit of oil, cream, makeup etc.

Many treatments that are out on the market are using benzoyl peroxide to help fight acne. Now this is capable of clearing up your skin but the problem with it is that it can cause irritation, dryness, peeling, or possibly swelling. If you have very sensitive skin then you may want to steer clear of any product containing this.

Most people are struggling with acne and believe they have tried every product under the sun but are still left with no results. Your goal should be to keep trying until youve found a treatment that best suits your needs. There is something out there for everyone.

If a company tells you their product works, well shouldnt it work? Its like an investment; youre looking for a return. When you invest you would have to be crazy not to expect a return on your investment.

Its not enough to just get rid of acne. After getting rid of acne, people still have to deal with scars. Youve probably heard how others have tried different acne treatments that allowed them to get rid of their acne, but now they have to deal with something else, scars. Which is like the after effect of getting rid of acne. You need a treatment that will allow you to treat acne as well treat scars.

When searching for a product it should have a risk free money back guarantee of at least 30 days. If anything lower than 30 days its a good chance that the company lacks confidence in the product.

I wish you the best and I hope that the information provided will help you in your search./pbr
br
The skin is the bodys single largest organ, covering us from head to toe. In this article we discuss four of the most common skin conditions suffered by people in order to discover their causes, symptoms and treatment options.

1. Acne

Acne is a common skin condition that afflicts people in their adolescent years, though for some the condition can continue into their 50s. The cause of acne is the blockage of oil producing skin glands by either excess skin tissue or a build-up of oil. The result of this blockage is a bulge in the skin topped by either a whitehead volcano of puss or a blackhead plug in the individual pores. Acne can also be caused by the rupture of skin follicles, which causes painful bacteria infections and swollen cysts.

The most common treatment for acne is a combination of different drying agents that cause some of the affected skin to peel away, revealing a new layer of clear new skin. In addition, the drying agents can reduce the overproduction of oil that may be clogging your pores. Often, these drying agents (salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, etc.) are used in conjunction with a light moisturizer that can help to counter and balance the dryness of your skin.

2. Skin Lesions, Scarring Pigmentation

A lesion can form on your skin when your acne is improperly treated or when the condition of the oil glands in your skin is very acute. Scarring or pigmentation (discoloration) can be the after-effect of acne lesions, leaving the skin with deep pits or contrasting colour marks that are considered unsightly by most. The key to avoiding tissue scarring caused by acne is early detection and treatment (as outlined above) of acne. If an individual is prone to scarring, they should contact their dermatologist or cosmetic physician as soon as possible to come up with a treatment program to minimize acne lesions and scarring. A chemical peel may also help to reduce the pigmentation and scarring after-effects of acne.

3. Psoriasis

Occurring primarily on the scalp but also found in other regions of the skin, this condition produces redness on the skin and silvery flakes of skin all over. Whether genetic mutations, environmental conditions or immune system malfunctions are at the root of psoriasis, the cause is an over activity of the T-helper cells in the body. These T-cells cause the skin cells to multiply at a fast rate of speed, stacking up too quickly, and one on top of the other. This overproduction of cells expedites the sloughing process of the skin, making it happen approximately every 6 days instead of every 30 days. The most common and effective medical treatment for psoriasis comes in the form of topical ointments that are applies to the affected area on a regular basis. These ointments typically contain salicylic acid or tar preparations. In addition, it is important that the skin is kept well moisturized, as dryness exacerbates the problem and many of the ointments contain drying agents that must be aggressively counter-acted through moisturizing regimens.

4. Eczema

Eczema is a condition that results in extremely itchy, cracked, scaly skin, which may blister severely over time. Some of the causes for this skin problem are allergies (food and environmental), genetic abnormalities and high levels of stress. Therefore, the first step in attempting to minimize this condition is to distress as much as possible. After this, you would be wise to search your diet, toiletry products, clothes washing products and other controllable and allergy producing elements in order to reduce irritation to the skin. Topical ointments can also be applied to the skin, much like with psoriasis, and humidifiers can be set up in the home to minimize the dryness of your skin, thereby reducing the visible symptoms of your condition.

In order to control or get rid of acne you must first get to the root cause of it. Actually, in order to solve any problem you must get to the root of it. Your question should be “what’s causing my skin to breakout?” And “what can I do to control it?”

It all starts from within. Having too much oil, dead skin cells, bacteria clogging up the pores will cause your skin to swell up and become inflamed. There are many products that fight against inflammation and swelling.

Zits, pimples, whiteheads, blackheads and spots are all known as symptoms of acne vulgaris. Acne vulgaris also meaning “common acne” is something that most people if not everyone will have to deal with at some point in their lives.

Acne Vulgaris has had its affect on 85% of adolescents and young adults. It doesn’t stop there. One guy was still getting acne and he was in his 50′s.

Some people say that acne goes away on it’s own but you shouldn’t wait around to see if it’s true. You need to find out the best solution to treating these symptoms.

There are right and wrong ways to pop pimples. If you would like to learn how, then go to one of the search engines like Goolge and type in “how to pop a pimple” and you should get some pretty good results.

To prevent acne from getting worse try using a good cleanser that will get rid of dead skin cells and bacteria. But make sure you don’t use one that will over dry your skin. Keeping your skin clean is a great way to keep it clear.

There are other products, which are used to treat very severe acne. One product a lot of acne sufferers are familiar with is Accutane. If you decide to use this product make sure you get a prescription. It is really for those who have very severe acne.

There are some problems with taking Accutane. It has been shown to cause some mental problems such as depression or other may become suicidal. No one really knows for sure.
Just be careful when using this product.

Don’t buy Accutane over the Internet because they are not being FDA approved. Go to http://www.fda.gov/cder/drug/infopage/accutane/default.htm if you would like to learn more. If you decide to go ahead and purchase online then you are taking a huge risk.

Acne is not a problem limited to teens in the throes of hormonal upheaval. Adult acne happens far more frequently than is generally realized. Broadly speaking, adult acne plagues 25% of adult males and up to 50% of adult females, though it is often not recognized.
The cause of adult acne has not been identified as yet, but there are theories. One of them is that teens and adults share on common nemesis, albeit at different levels – stress. Stress causes internal changes that temporarily disturb hormonal equilibrium, and may just be responsible for pimples that seem to pop up at the worst possible time.
Treatment and damage control for adult acne does not differ drastically from that for teen acne. But considering the ambiguity surrounding the causes, care and prevention are highly personalized issues. Should one, for instance, note that they break out with a rash of zits while reading the latest Stephen King novel or after the monthly argument with their spouse, some changes in reading habits and lifestyle may very well be in order. Adult females are far more given to the use of elaborate and inadvisable makeup regimens than teenagers are, and males are catching up.
While treating adult acne, bear in mind that adult skin is far less resilient and elastic than teen skin. Avoid harsh soaps and ‘skin-stripping’ agents and stick to mild cleaners and generally follow the care and prevention regimen prescribed for teen acne with an added precaution. In adults, there is a reduced ability of skin to re-moisturize naturally after being subjected to the abrasive and dehydrating effects of a compound like benzoyl peroxide. The use of such a compound must necessarily be followed by the application of a hypoallergenic, no-oily moisturizer – preferably made of organic extracts – to reestablish the skin’s natural moisture content.
Adult Acne can be frustrating and embarrassing, but it is treatable. It is advised to contact a dermatologist for chronic adult acne.
Acne Care provides detailed information about acne care, acne care skin tips, acne skin care centers, and more. Acne Care is affiliated with Acne Skin Care.

Acne oil or “sebum” is one of the main causes of acne in teenagers and adults. Everyone’s skin produces some oil. The problem arises when this oil is produced excessively thus leading to clogged pores. Clogged pores lead to pimples.

Causes

Acne oil is one of the causes of acne. In some people, acne could also be caused due to genetics. It could also be due to the hormonal changes in the body. Some females experience pre-menstrual acne flares due to hormones called androgens.

In the recent years, diet has also been cited as one of the causes of acne. Greasy food, soda, iodine products and chocolates have been identified as culprits that cause acne. Though there is no solid scientific proof behind these allegations, many people believe them to be true.

Tips For Acne Free Skin

The fact is that a large percentage of population suffers from acne at some or the other point in their life. However, with few simple tips you can control acne to a large extent.

-Drink plenty of water.

-If you suffer from acne, do not scrub your skin. This will worsen the condition.

-Do not wash your face frequently, as that would dry it. This will cause your body to produce even more acne oil which might end up blocking your pores.

-After exercising, wash your face and body with a mild soap.

-Avoid stress

-Remember to wash away your makeup at night.

-Avoid tight clothes if you have body acne.

-Avoid alcohol and smoking.

-Avoid the sun.

-Go for oil free makeup.

-Avoid staying in humid conditions.

Treatments

Today there are many pimple treatments available in the market. However, it is better to consult a dermatologist before you seek treatment. A dermatologist would be able to examine your acne system and its causes. Based on this analysis, he/she will be able to recommend the right treatment for you.

Natural acne treatments are quite popular nowadays. In the recent years, Tea Tree Oil has been used for treating acne. It has been found to be very effective in killing bacteria (staph bacteria) and is very gentle on the skin. Lavender oil is another effective acne treatment. It has great healing properties and works wonders on the scars left by acne.

One of the main benefits of natural treatments is that they are not harsh on your skin and body. They have no side effects. And if you are able to find the right treatment for your skin type, you will soon see the results.

If you are looking for over the counter products, then ProActiv is one of the most popular treatments available. It consists of a renewing cleanser to help clear pores, a revitalizing toner, and a repairing lotion. Its main active ingredient is prescription grade benzoyl peroxide.

Accutane is another effective acne treatment; however, for this one you would need a prescription. Doctors usually recommend this treatment for those who suffer from a severe acne problem. This medication is to be taken internally. You should definitely be aware of some of its side effects before you go in for this treatment. These include liver dysfunction, dry and cracked lips and birth defects.

Some of the other acne treatments available in the market are Zyporex, Aceticin, Orovo Acne, Oxycerin and Asso Gold Cleansing Bar.
