The skin condition called Acne usually occurs during our adolescence, and even longer for some of us. Thankfully, for those of us who are unlucky to have acne continue into our adult years, there are many available adult acne cure methods to choose from.

Over-the-counter products are usually the best choices, however not for the really severe cases. Often times these cases might need a dermatologist or a specialist of skin care’s attention. How can you know if you need special attention? If you are getting a lot of unwanted scars, or are in extreme pain, than you should try that option.

When it comes to dealing with only scars, your going to want a very different treatment than the common cure for more active acne. Scars are those deep, dark lesion inside of our skin trying to push out themselves.

Also adult acne cure is going to be very different than adolescent acne cure. However, they are similar in the fact that they both will be a wash or a cream applied topically to our acne prone areas 2 or 3 times per day. This helps to control our acne symptoms.

What we should be avoiding is treatment options that leave us with uncomfortable side effects, such as dry skin. When we dry our skin out it actually causes more acne for us due to excessive productions of oil trying to self moisturize our skin. Usually, we will discover that cure methods tend to require a few months for a completely clear complexion.

You must remember to be patient when treating acne because it doesn’t always clear up for us as fast as we want it to.

Instant adult acne cures wont be good for the skin or healthy for the individual. Check out this review for a product that has been proven effective with adult acne cases. Or for more information about adult acne cure, click here.

For many years the condition of acne has been associated with teens and is perceived to only affect people during adolescence. Since it is very common among teens, it was assumed that the hormone levels teens have directly caused acne, and that it would go away when one reached adulthood. However, this is not true, as adult acne is a problem.

The first statement in that assumption is true. Acne can be influenced by hormone levels because hormones promote oil production which clogs pores and can cause acne. This can, however, continue to happen even after a person moves from adolescence into adulthood. While less adults than teens are afflicted with acne, the condition is becoming more widely known in adults.

There are many different causes of adult acne, and the cause and type must be determined before the right treatment can be found. By treating the condition, you are helping to eliminate the negative aspects associated with it.

By finding and treating adult acne and its symptoms, it will be more easily managed through proper acne control. Positive skin care can lessen the need for harsh, aggressive, and sometimes even dangerous treatment.

Like in teen acne, there are many psychological and social affects of acne that, along with the physical aspects, can aid in lowering self-esteem, and can cause people who suffer from this condition to often remove themselves from social situations where they feel their condition makes them to appear conspicuous.

Until recently, it was believed that adult acne was relatively uncommon. This was due to the lack of reported cases of adult acne, along with the fewer number of doctors visits from adult sufferers. Many adults were embarrassed they had a condition that was mostly associated with adolescence, afraid of what others might think if they knew.

As more information about adult acne became available, the more people spoke out about their experiences. This helped them realize that they were not alone in their struggles. Many women, especially, suffer from acne for much the same reason as teens, hormones produce oil which, then clogs pores and causes breakouts.

There are numerous treatments available, some over-the-counter, and others, prescription.

Another aspect of adult acne that makes it difficult to cope with is the scarring acne can leave. Aging skin is thinner, and is not able to bounce back like that of an adolescent. While this isn’t as much a concern for young adults as it is older sufferers, prolonged acne could mean deeper scars that are, in turn, more visible. This, too, can play a significant role in how one feels about his or her appearance.

No matter the cause and type, treatment is the first step to feeling better about your acne and how it affects you. When you are treating it, you are acting, and though the results will not be visible for a time, this will certainly help put you on the road to recovery.

Just because you never experienced acne during your youth, doesn’t mean you won’t have to face it as an adult. Research shows one out of four adult men and one out of two adult women will experience some type of acne in their adult life.

No one seems to agree on what causes acne in adults, but one thing is clear. Acne is always associated with hormones. These hormones are essential to the development of the oil glands of your skin. Children don’t experience acne, because their hormones aren’t mature.

Any time your hormones become unbalanced, you run the risk of an acne breakout. Researchers agree that acne is caused by androgens. These are male hormones found in both men and women. These hormones create excess oil. In turn, this excess oil can clog the hair follicles and allow bacteria to grow. When this occurs, acne pimples and blemishes appear.

Women generally experience hormonal acne because of the normal female cycles like menstruation, pregnancy and menopause. This is why some types of birth control pills help control acne by keeping the androgens balanced. However, consult your doctor before considering this treatment. Every one is different. All treatments do not produce the same results for different people.

Many adults have experienced success in clearing their acne by using a simple three-step regimen.

Benzoyl Peroxide Kills Acne Bacteria
First, get a 2.5% solution of benzoyl peroxide. Apply this to a small part on your skin to test your skin’s reaction. Although most people have no problems with benzoyl peroxide, some do. Once you know it’s ok, gently apply this to your affected skin.

Avoid Irritating Your Skin
Always be gentle when working with your skin. Irritation only increases your acne problems. Avoid harsh scrubbing, picking or pinching your pimples, etc. If you skin is already irritated, take a few days and let it settle down.

Use a Gentle Skin Cleanser
Wash your face and acne affected skin with a gentle cleanser. Avoid using regular bath soap or cleansers that overly dry your skin.

Finally, use a gentle moisturizer to keep your skin from drying out and to minimize irritation. With a little consistency and time, many adults can clear their adult acne following this simple treatment.

Growing up as a teenager, I am sure that you had some form of acne. Now once you are an adult in the 20?s, 30?s, 40?s, or even older you can STILL get acne. Men and women both can get acne, but men can suffer from it more severely then women. Don?t worry though, there are many proven adult acne treatment methods out there, you just have to find the right one that works best for you.

So how does adult acne treatment work?

It works by eliminating future breakouts and it must be used continuously over a period of months. Adult acne treatments are extremely simple to use, the majority of them will require you to follow them exactly how it is written on the treatment itself.

What is the best adult acne treatment on the market?

Well, there are many over the counter adult acne treatments that work well. They will clean out your pours and completely dry out your pimples. There are also prescriptions drugs that eliminate the oil build up in your skin cells and reduce bacteria in your skin. Your acne will begin drying and peeling away revealing healthy skin underneath. There are even some adult acne medications that work by getting rid of blemishes that are caused by acne overnight.

Did you know that birth control pills for women can help eliminate acne? Well, if you didn?t you do now! When you get adult acne please avoid squeezing and popping your acne at all costs. This will only lead to the pimple getting more infected and scaring on your face. When washing your face also, DO NOT SCRUB HARD! This will do more harm than good for your face if your scrub it roughly.

Acne is embarrassing, especially for adults. When people think of adults, a clear face comes to mind. The teenage years are over and so should your acne. Adult acne is no fun and it can even hurt your chances of getting a professional job. Some employers may look down upon you as being ?unclean? and not taking care of yourself. They may think that you don?t have proper hygiene and lack the ability to wash your face. It is wrong for employers to think this way, but it is just a face of life. Don?t let acne ruin your life and chances of landing that dream job.

If you develop adult acne I suggest seeking treatment right away at the first signs of it. Whether you want to use over the counter medication or prescription medication is totally up to you. There are excellent treatments for both types of medication you choose to use. In whatever you decide to do, I wish you the best of luck! Do not give up the fight to eliminating your acne today and having a clear face. You will feel better about yourself and even people will respect you more with a clear face. Let?s stop adult acne in it?s tracks today!

Author: Robert G. Knechtel -
Source: articledashboard.com

While we think of acne as a teenage affliction, adults in surprising numbers are vulnerable to this skin disorder. Both teenagers and adults with acne often react by wanting to isolate. However, as a grown-up you should take some comfort in the knowledge that you are by no means alone.

Statistics reveal that, at some time in their lives, 25% of adult men and 50% of adult women will experience an acne outbreak more serious that an occasional zit or two. So, the teenage stereotype basically is a myth.

Adult Acne Solutions – Medicine and Other Approaches

Almost always, the first thing that comes to mind for treating adult acne in its more virulent manifestations is what choices among the many acne medicines would make sense. Those under care of a dermatologist likely will be prescribed one or more of the most commonly indicated acne medications, including Accutane, Retin-A, Erythromycin, Tetracycline and Doxycycline.

For really severe adult acne, i.e. the kind that can scar, many physicians are quick to prescribe Accutane. This is a very powerful medication that attacks the underlying cause of acne from the inside out by shrinking oil glands. An excess of skin oil is the underlying cause of acne. A natural oil called sebum builds to abnormal levels, clogging skin pores, leading to the growth of microbes which are responsible for acne flare-ups.

One of Accutane’s huge drawbacks is its well documented incidence of side effects. First, it can produce severe birth defects in pregnant women. Secondly, many experience mild to moderate aches in the joints and muscles as well as dry and cracked lips, dry skin, dry mouth and dry nose.

There are many who claim, on the other hand, that their adult acne is especially susceptible to treatment with benzoyl peroxide, an ingredient found in several of the over-the-counter creams and ointments. Excellent results are often obtained when these remedies are combined with good diet and proper hydration.

Under any circumstances, if you do nothing else, drink plenty of water! Your skin needs water for hydration i.e. moisturizing. As an adult acne victim, your skin will suffer from dehydration. Control of acne is also enhanced by eating a balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables.

Combining diet and hydration with vitamins is also recommended. Vitamins A, B, C, and E are believed to have beneficial effects, especially vitamin A. The latter helps to control hormonal levels which in turn controls production of sebum. In addition, vitamin A operates as an antioxidant which strengthens skin tissue.

Beyond medication, diet and hydration there are more invasive treatment techniques to which many turn to cope with the consequences of adult acne.

Microdermabrasion

In cases of mild acne scarring, microdermabrasion is becoming more of a treatment of choice. However, it is not useful for severe scarring. Moreover, those of advanced age or with sensitive skin usually are not candidates for this technique. One of its advantages is that the treatment is brief and results become apparent very quickly.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser skin resurfacing is a relatively new process to come on the scene in adult acne treatment. By using a laser light, this method can reach even deeper skin layers than microdermabrasion.

Chemical Peeling

Improvement in skin discoloration and age spots, as well as light freckling and scarring also can be brought about by chemical peeling. It will stimulate growth of new, healthy skin cells which is quite beneficial for adult acne sufferers.

What is the Price of All This Adult Acne Treatment?

Costs for acne remedies can vary from just a few dollars for a tube of over-the-counter medication to thousands of dollars for more proactive approaches. Antibiotics and prescribed topical creams and lotions can cost upwards of $200 per month. Skin resurfacing treatments such as microdermabrasion, chemical peeling, lasers, etc. can cost from less than $100 to thousands, depending on where treatment is rendered. If you suffer from adult acne, watch out in Beverly Hills!

Acne is not a problem limited to teens in the throes of hormonal upheaval. Adult acne happens far more frequently than is generally realized. Broadly speaking, adult acne plagues 25% of adult males and up to 50% of adult females, though it is often not recognized.
The cause of adult acne has not been identified as yet, but there are theories. One of them is that teens and adults share on common nemesis, albeit at different levels – stress. Stress causes internal changes that temporarily disturb hormonal equilibrium, and may just be responsible for pimples that seem to pop up at the worst possible time.
Treatment and damage control for adult acne does not differ drastically from that for teen acne. But considering the ambiguity surrounding the causes, care and prevention are highly personalized issues. Should one, for instance, note that they break out with a rash of zits while reading the latest Stephen King novel or after the monthly argument with their spouse, some changes in reading habits and lifestyle may very well be in order. Adult females are far more given to the use of elaborate and inadvisable makeup regimens than teenagers are, and males are catching up.
While treating adult acne, bear in mind that adult skin is far less resilient and elastic than teen skin. Avoid harsh soaps and ‘skin-stripping’ agents and stick to mild cleaners and generally follow the care and prevention regimen prescribed for teen acne with an added precaution. In adults, there is a reduced ability of skin to re-moisturize naturally after being subjected to the abrasive and dehydrating effects of a compound like benzoyl peroxide. The use of such a compound must necessarily be followed by the application of a hypoallergenic, no-oily moisturizer – preferably made of organic extracts – to reestablish the skin’s natural moisture content.
Adult Acne can be frustrating and embarrassing, but it is treatable. It is advised to contact a dermatologist for chronic adult acne.

Step 1.
Daily routine – THE NIGHT BATH

You must do this every day or twice a day if not convenient for you. THE NIGHT BATH ingredient you need are:
4 Cups of Dead Sea Salt (Normal sea salt will do but not as effective) 4 Cups of Epsom Salt

Why Dead Sea salt and Epsom salt? Epsom salt is well know for expelling toxins out of your body and Dead Sea salt contains minerals and naturally occurring chemicals found in dead sea which could replenish your body lost minerals and also for its antiseptic properties.

Fill your bath tub with the mixtures and lukewarm water, soak yourself inside for about 20-30 minutes. If you are not afraid that the salt will irritates your eyes, you can sink yourself totally into the water as long as your breath can hold. About 20-30 minutes later RINSE YOURSELF WITH COOL WATER.

Note: If you can’t access to bath tub, than mix 3 tablespoons of Dead Sea salt and Epsom salt with 1 tablespoon of warm water (not too watery) and a few drops of tea tree oil in a bowl, mix them well. Choose a comfortable area to lie down and apply the mixture on your face, neck or back. Avoid broken skin area, rinse with cool water after 20-30 minutes. This method is not as powerful as soaking yourself in the salt water, but it does helps.

You will have a very relaxing feeling with just 20-30 minutes of miracle salt bath. As I mentioned earlier, this step has to be done everyday until your skin condition improved. After I found this cure than remember when I was 8-12 years old, my dad used to bring me to swim in the sea and my skin was flawless. So if possible, go swim in the sea few times a week. So much for step 1 and if you do it consistently, you can see results very soon.

Not many people hear about adult acne every day. In fact, most people assume that it is only teens and young adults who are plagued with acne and that if you did not have it then, you will never get it. This is very incorrect. Many adults get acne often and never had it as an adolescent. Although the reasons for getting acne after the teen years are much different, the feelings that go along with it can be just as bad if not worse.

There are some very common reasons that adults will begin to suffer from acne later in life. These reasons tend to be harder to control on your own and may require medical intervention to fix in full. One can still use over the counter remedies or prescriptions to help gain control till the real problem is fixed. Most doctors will help treat symptoms while also treating the underlying issue. If you are facing adult acne, do not suffer in silence. The medical community will help you to figure out why you may be going through this and can offer you help.

Allergies

Allergies are one of the most common reasons for adult acne. As we get older our allergies can begin to affect us in new ways. One of those new symptoms is acne. The histamine reaction to an allergen can cause stress on the body causing chemical changes in your skin. This chemical change can lead to an acne break out. It is very common to not see the connection at first as most allergy sufferers are used to their normal symptoms and may not relate the outbreak to the allergen. The best way to combat acne of this type is to begin taking either over the counter or prescription allergy medication. This will help you to get the problem under control and stop future out breaks. For more severe cases you may need to determine exactly what the allergy is and eliminate it from your life.

Hormones

Today many people are waiting late in life to begin families. This means that women are staying on birth control much longer than ever. Many find that they are plagued with adult acne once they stop the contraception to begin trying for a baby. There are a few reasons for this type of acne to occur, with the over control being our hormones. A hormone imbalance that is associated with stopping birth control and some forms of hormone disorders such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is the cause.

Most women will not know they even have any issues till they try for children as the birth control sets the hormone balance for the woman. If you find that acne of this type is your issue, many doctors can help you get it under control by treating the underlying hormone condition. For those who have to wait till the hormones balance on their own or with medication, make sure to use some over the counter cleansers and creams to help you keep as much control as possible.

You're not a child. You are 25, 30 or even 40 – So what with beads!? Were not they supposed to leave her prom? You are not alone – 50% of women suffer from acne adult female. What can you do? There are many products available in all the major cosmetics companies promising to help clear your acne adult but can not tell what is right for you unless you know what is causing your bad complexion first. The answer is usually androgen (male) created by ovarian hormones. But you're a woman! Well, we all have a certain amount of so-called male hormones, too. These hormones cause acne almost all through a complex process in which cause the dead skin cells to clog your pores from the inside. Acne is not a hygiene problem. In fact, the only thing that could wash would help to wash your mom and dad – who gave the genes probably determine their fate when it comes to acne. Since acne is caused by hormones, most of the causes of acne are adult women related to hormones: hormonal fluctuations. This is why most people get pimples during puberty, when hormone levels of the spike. In women, can get an outbreak once a month at a particular time of their menstrual cycle. Stop birth control pills. Since the estrogen found in birth control pills can help prevent acne and androgen hormones make annoying, when you stop taking the pill, acne may erupt. You will have to consider the pill or other methods. Other medications. Are you taking other medicines that can cause acne? anticonvulsants, corticosteroids, sobriety and drugs can cause acne. So can birth control pills containing progestin, not estrogen. You should talk to your doctor before stopping any of these medications, but your doctor that you may want a different formulation that does not strengthen their acne. Inheritance. Thanks Mom. If your mother, father and siblings once have had acne, it is likely that he inherited. Stress. 25 years ago, dermatologists did not insist that stress can cause acne. Well, wrong. Now we know that stress can and should increase production of androgen hormones. So relax. If you learn to manage your stress, you may be able to help your skin. Diet. Some foods, particularly milk can aggravate acne and even cause rashes. Try to track the foods you eat. If you notice your skin turn for the worse after eating a particular food, try cutting out of your diet. Products for skin care. If the products of skin care are the cause of acne is called acne cosmetic (as opposed to acne vulgaris, which is caused by hormones) This is caused by oil sunscreens and other products that obstruct the skin from the outside. If you have acne prone skin should only use products labeled non-comedogenic. Underlying condition. If you have other symptoms such as excess facial hair, baldness or thinning hair and irregular periods may be a more serious medical condition causing your acne. Consult a physician if you have any of these other symptoms. Now, you will probably have an idea about the cause of female adult acne. Adjust your treatment options accordingly. Ask yourself the next time they launched an acne treatment product if the product is to have an effect on their condition. Creams and lotions are probably not going to do much good if your acne is caused by hormones, but it sure can make your pocket lighter!
